...that is a wonderful 30s art deco scene. Several of Rampal's albums use Roger Huyssen's cover art. Oh, and Rampal's music is nice, too.

1980s make-out background music.
...would seem to support your assessment.
..it was very trendy when it came out, and I suspect it's one of those LPs that a lot of people got and played only once.
JohnK
much like "Switched on Bach"
I enjoy it, although it was my bride's request. I find that it serves me to include her interests in what goes on the TT. When I showed her the ad for the new phono stage I was considering, her response was, "I think you should do it." Call it enlightened self interest, if you will.
you're getting your aerophone fix today!
nothing wrong with that
Having a mighty good time this afternoon.
you mean that wasn't the Cowsills?
Hey, if you're not from the Chicago area they may not be on your radar. But who are the cowsills?😉
Try working that into a song. (I love the A,H, and J album. I saw them live back in the 70s. Lake Shore Drive is not the best song on the album. I especially love Stone Angel)
"Stone Angel" is also my favorite, although "Uppers and Downers" is fun.

which local band had the song title 'Sprinkle Road To Cork Street' on their first breakout album? this group almost broke big nationally and opened for some what would become world class acts
no cheating!
Got me. I don't think that I have ever heard it, or even heard of it.
well let's get that fixed at the link
[I'll bet you have & forgot them]
Totally new to me.
just kidding, I'm from the Chicago area and know who they are or were
if I remember correctly the two songs mentioning Lake Shore Drive dropped that same summer
just glad I don't need to drive it these days
; )
You and me both. I left that area almost 20 years ago and never looked back.
