They really did say "clogging". Sadly, I'm old enough to remember proofreading, proper punctuation, etc., which seems to have gone the way of buggy-whips.

when the ad copy writer knows nothing at all about the technical aspects of the product or about the general subject. So, when that person transposes "cogging" into "clogging" and then he or she or some other person proofreads it, it doesn't look wrong.
I seem to be seeing more errors than I used to, and not just technical ones.
I never thought of myself as in any way formal, but writing seems to have gotten very casual in the last number of years.
As for auto-correct, I keep mine on "auto-suggest" if I've misspelled something, but I'll make the final choice myself.
You type 'cogging' but auto-correct changes it to 'clogging'.
And neither you or your editor catch it.
That has happened to me. Also, autocorrect hates the word "cascode"; changes it to cascade, as it just now did.
