In Reply to: RE: Turntable feedback - any isolation solutions that WORK? posted by LowRedMoon on February 04, 2021 at 15:30:11
It depends how much you want to spend. Vibraplane and Minus-K Technology certainly work.
However I do not think that your problem is actually caused by acoustic feedback ( though it may be exacerbated by it). For this to occur you need to have sound coming out of your loudspeakers which is then picked up via the turntable/pickup and sent back to the loudspeaker by the amplifier and so on in a loop. However you say that you are getting the issue without the turntable playing a record. So where does the sound from the loudspeakers come from? You have a hum problem. There was another question only a few days ago which was almost identical to yours. Here is a link.

That DOES sound like the same issue. I'll read through and report back if the same fix helps.
Thanks!

I have the same issue and also read the other thread. My equipment is McIntosh and VPI. I tried switching cables and this did not solve my problem. Even though music is not playing it is an isolation issue. Cheapest solution would be a wall shelf as suggested above. Won't work for me because of my table weight so I am now looking at HRS platforms - the best available.
