like the industrial or medical grade alcohol mentioned by Ivan. As an example, I used to use Photo Flo 200 as my nonionic surfactant, but I now use pure Triton X-100. Photo Flo 200 has other ingredients for which I know nothing about their effect on polyvinyl. A photographic wetting agent like Photo Flo was used by Mr. Watts in the 50s for his series of record cleaning products.

the faucet and pouring distilled water over the groove area, I just air dried them in the rack pictured below. I always figured drying with some sort of cloth would only add dust back onto the record.
I then found a Nitty Gritty 3.0 in a thrift store in the 90s, and the punchbowl now sits idle.
