You are right. There are 4 leads. I was thinking at first that two had the same color but that isn't the case at all. They each have a unique color. It may indeed be a wye wound 3 phase motor. At some point I'll ohm the motor out to see if I can determine more. I just got it home last night, fresh off the Ferry ride from Victoria BC. I have not tried powering it up, but it's probably ready to go as is.
I'm sold on the idea of at least trying out the regenerator to see how it sounds. That it can supply clean, programmable power to all three phases, if that is what I have, then that is really cool too.
I would like to purchase what I need and hear you are the man to talk to. Can I PM you? What is the preferred procedure?
Twystd, where would all the power come from? I understand the setup from Pyramid only sends out the control signals, and I would still need power amps to beef up the output, correct? Can you make any recommendation about power amps?

Ugly...Sorry to take so long to respond. If you want to take this up, contact me at my private email address. It is : twystd3atyahoodotcom. First thing is that I need some type of schematic showing how the 4 wires are connected and to what.

I'll PM you.
As received.
No fuses, j boxes, UL94V0 rated materials or any of that kind of garbage to get in the way.
I've yet to try applying power.
I haven't pulled the motor off the chassis yet and still haven't tried to figure out the orientation of the coils.
I can't see any markings on the capacitor which indicate it's wiring/plate orientation.
Perhaps you can deduce all you need from this?? I have a bit of test equipment I can check stuff if needed.
I just noticed the suspicious hue to the wood around the capacitor. I wonder if I actually am having capacitor problems.
This EAD is definitely not a 3 phase synchronous hysteresis motor in disguise. I have ohm'd it out and found that there are only two coils as would be expected in a single phase synchronous hysteresis motor.
