That is a Rek o Kut transcription turntable and a nice one at that! The tone arm is a Grey Research. Well worth restoring.
The motor is a single phase .5 amp(I'm guessing the decimal got wiped out, 50 amp is certainly too high.) 115VAC so there is no need for Twystd's three phase drive. If the motor start cap is electrolytic (the 2 mfd on the label) I'd replace it with a 2mfd oil cap.
Have fun, it looks like a nice project!

Hi.
Yes. 1/2 A seems like it must be it but it means the motor is only 13% efficient if that is true. I didn't expect that.
The tonearm needs to be rewired and needs a set screw that is missing. I will also need to find a way to shim the tonearm a bit if I want to keep it in this plinth as it is a bit low now.
Do you think a stereo cartridge would work well with the tonearm? I think it might be model number 103-S-L. What kind of cartridge is a good match for this kind of tonearm?
I believe it may be an oil cap in there now that looks as though it's in good shape.
My main motivation for looking at power regenerators is to make sure power quality is good but I'd probably want to have a listen if a controller I'm using had a suitable 2 phase mode of operation.

It must be very inefficient then. I guess that's what the fan blades are for.
