That's an AT70 family body, the top plate of which is missing (thus the exact body model will remain unknown, but wouldn't really matter anyway...), with an ATN72E. So you could consider it practically a complete AT72E - pretty much the same thing as the more common AT71E (which still used to be officially offered by AT in the US until a couple of years ago, when it was also replaced by the AT95E over there...), but the ATN72E is intended for a tracking force of roundabout 1.5 instead of the roundabout 2 g the ATN71E is intended for. Hence one can expect it to be a slightly better tracker.
It only sports a bonded diamond with comparatively blunt (pseudo-)elliptical tip, though, so it's nothing you should expect wonders from - but it's still a decent entry-level cartridge. And it would work well and look good on a not all too heavy (i.e. from light to the light side of medium heavy) arm with comparatively big heashell, like for example the arms of the Dual 502, 504, 510 and 521.
Original and 3rd party needle upgrade potential unfortunately is very low. However, unlike many of the original AT needles for later budget models like for example the ATN95E (AT3400 family), as far as I'm aware all the original needles for the AT70 family still sport screw-fixed (to the plastic holders) instead of bolted/riveted cantilever assemblies. Hence it should be possible to upgrade by cantilever assembly transplantation.
