OK, I did it. I bought the Lenco--only $425. It's a handsome machine and it's running very smoothly. Thanks to everyone for your friendly advice!
I'm sending my Dynavector off to be retipped, so in the meantime I've got the Shure M95ED that came with it. So far I'm hearing much better separation and bass. I'm not 100% sure on the VTF, but at 1.75 I'm getting good tracking but a bit of graininess.

As you will see on Lenco Heaven, there is almost no end to the level of excellence you can achieve with that turntable, if you care to do so. Meantime, have fun listening.
as the long-time owner of a Thorens TD 321 I find my deck is musically outstanding and basically play and forget except for a new cartridge every 5-10 years or so. Great choice and enjoy the tunes!!!
