When I installed a Linn Valhalla power supply into my Thorens TD-160 Super, I installed a heavier power cord. I didn't do a before and after comparison, but it certainly can't hurt.

Thanks for that observation- it sums up my general feelings: a good cord can't hurt. I can whip together a decent shielded 2-wire cord for about $20 or so, and might do that because as one post here said "I believe in good wire!" Indeed!
Good call. All I did was cut off the component-end of a decent quality 2-conductor generic power cord and connected the bare wires to the power supply. As others have said; the existing cord is getting stiff and cracked, so why take the risk?
