Anyone know what kind of turntable this is? Never seen one like it before ...
Follow Ups:
It is indeed a DDX1000. The speed control unit is not pictured.Mine has performed flawlessly since I bought it new around 1980. The speed remains spot on very rarely needing adjustment.

it would take three arms, one pod on each foot.

Looks like a SME 30xx variant.
It was just okay... much more impressive to look at than listen to.
Dean.
reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
I remember those days, and seeing those tables around. Not exactly shy about the strobe markings, were they. Times change, today if you hooked up a strobe to the motor's power supply, you would get bitch slapped.
I dig the tri pod design, the minimilist look with three points describing a circle hits me better than a wooden box holding the platter. Perhaps that is why I wound up with a Gyro se, I would deny it was bought for style, but it does look pretty cool, and kind of like a blood centrifuge when in action.
Looks like a Micro Seiki DDX-1000.

which is better, because the speed control is quartz-locked. The DQX came after the DDX, I think.
