not knowing my vinyl related history/appreciation, which is vast.
The OP doesn't bother to mention which Bill Evans release or whether it IS vinyl (one do assume so given where he posted).
Betcha it is yet another re-issue of previously released material (which makes it totally useless to me), but no telling from the oblique post.
BTW: Was planning on seeing Bill Evans at Keystone Korner but damned if he didn't depart this mortal coil some several days ahead of those gigs.

Follow Ups:
It's been 37 years so it's understandable, but your recollection is a bit off. Evans played nine nights at Keystone Korner in SF with a trio in 1980 a week before he died: his final performances. I was fortunate to catch four sets in two nights and if not for an early day job at that time in my life I would been there every night. Though he was ill, the performances were lucid, insightful, and vibrant. The whole thing was taped without permission (fortunately) by the KK sound crew off the board and was eventually released in 2000 as an 8 CD box set on Fantasy/Milestone. AFAIK it has never come out on vinyl. Okay, it's not "Sunday at the VV", but the recording quality is quite professional. To me, the best parts are the solo interludes that precede most tunes before the band drifts in, and those are captured adequately, with a minimum of crowd and bar noise. The sidemen are stellar (Joe LaBarbara and Marc Johnson), but it's a revelation to hear Evans' solo musings about the upcoming pieces as he gives them direction wordlessly though his preambles. For those who have only bothered to listen to "Waltz for Debbie" or "KOB" it's a jaw-dropper. Certainly it's because of the personal emotional attachment, but more often than not this is what I reach for when I'm in a Bill Evans mood even though it's not LP. Out of print but still obtainable.
. . . in theory, practice and theory are the same; in practice, they are different . . .
I sure got that bass akwards!
Actually, it's amazing I even mis-remembered what I did; those were crazy days.
I may have to seek out those recordings.
