Has anyone watched the series called American Epic on PBS ? It is about the early music recordings of American music and its influences. I have followed it because of all the blues influence of the early 1900's and the recording process of how they got to record artists who I got to meet or at least listen to on the TT. Nice film and history of our American Music and how it developed.

Earlier this year my local PBS station added three more broadcast channels. One of those seems to be primarily reruns of both recent and older programs. I happened to see this morning that Part 1 (of 3) will be on that channel this evening.
I watched all three on the basic channel, concluding last evening. It was really the story of record companies reaching out for new/different musical styles beginning in the late '20s to compete with the emergence of radio. Record sales for popular and classical had fallen off so the companies sought to discover other musical styles which many people had not heard. I enjoyed Part 3 the most since it was more diverse. I felt 1 and 2 focused a little too long on some performers. For all that, still worth watching if you find access.

Interesting series, I always like the film footage of these old docs. Seeing some of the blues artists or the Hopi Indians the Hawaian steel guitar history I still believe that is where the deep south got the inspiration to begin playing slide guitar with the blues amazing history. The Stones, Ten years after, Early Fleetwood Mac, list goes on and runs deep of how the blues influenced the early rock Like the song goes the Blues had a baby and the called it rock and roll.
his grave site doesn't get much respect.
See that my grave is kept clean.... Right?
It was right next to an industrial building and way too sterile.

Dark was the Night Cold was the Ground
I don't believe a word was spoken in the lyrics but man does that song hit me every time I listen to it.
