The Durufle' requiem is 20th century, but the melodies are adapted directly from plainsong chant. My favorite LP version is the Argo ZRG 787 recording of the St. John's College Cambridge choir under George Guest. The boy soprano singing the Pie Jesu is to die for.
I have looked for a plainsong version of the Missa de Angelis (not a requiem, however) for years and never found one.

No idea if it is any good, but there is exactly one LP with the ordinary of the Missa de Angelis on eBay:

I wish someone would record it as a full Mass with propers; which propers would be up to them. At my parish, the Missa de Angelis (aka, Mass 8) is frequently sung most the year (pretty much from Trinity Sunday to Advent) and I think that is pretty standard (at least to the extent that one can talk about a Missa Cantata being standard these days).
Perhaps someone has for CD, I'll have to search.
Thank you for this information. I am not Roman Catholic, but Anglican, and I sing in a church choir. Our Episcopal Hymnal 1984 has the Gloria and the Sanctus from the missa de angelis, but not the other movements.
In a different church choir 34 years ago I sang the entire mass, but have not been able to locate the vocal score for it. I am sure it is public domain after all the centuries. Our performance years ago used only a few hand bells for accompaniment, to help us stay on pitch. It was a sublime experience.
If you know of a source, I would love to know about it.

Sure! You may have to give yourself a crash course on chant notation ("neumes") but there are guides online.

This is the Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei. The Credo is variable, but singing either Credo III or Credo I is common with the Missa de Angelis.
