I think you're turntable speed is off a little :-)
Very nice, I just got the Pass Labs INT-250. These are very nice indeed, and I will never go back to separates now. I like the simplicity of having a high quality integrated.
Here's mine.
Tom Collins
Turntables are Technics SL-1600 MKII with Dynavector 10 X 4 cartridge, and a Thorens TD 160 with a Shure V15III cartridge. Receiver is Yamaha CR-2020 crossed over with a Dahlquist DQ-LP1 into the Hitachi HS-500 main speakers and a into NAD 2600A amp driving the Polk RM-1000 subs behind the Hitachi mains. The subs are spiked on concrete slabs from Lowes and are weighted on top with lead sports weights from Goodwill. The other stuff is for home theater, if I ever finish it. The rack is a solid core door from Habitat for Humanity, a strong coffee table from Goodwill, and baltic birch shelves supported by galvanized plumbing pipe from Lowe's damped with cork at each connection.
The drivers in the Hitachi speakers are also pictured below.
Yikes! Those are some pretty serious looking drivers...how do the Hitachi's sound? More vintage gear to research...thanks?
had the kind of gear shown by others and you in your post.
Acoustic bass tones are real distinct with good attack, and I am hearing hall ambiance that I have never heard before. I am away from there right now, and I cannot remember what the highs were like. At least, they were non-fatiguing.
The drivers certainly look high-end...rarely see stuff like that anymore, even in very high-end gear. The surround on the woofer is interesting. Looks like it's pleated.
The big receiver on the bottom left...looks to be a Yamaha...is it in service or do you use the NAD?
I found the below comment on Audio Karma for the Hitachi HS-500 pair, but there are a few more if you want to bother with Babelfish translation of Japanese sites. One Japanese site is dedicated to the speaker and its modifications. I have partially translated that site, but all I will ever do is update the electrolytic caps in the crossover. Inmate Coner has made comments about the speaker on the vintage and speaker asylums. The woofer is definitely pleated. My pair cost $30 at Salvation Army, when the 70s stuff still showed up in local thrift stores. That doesn't happen here anymore.

how did it get here?Same as it ever was, same as it ever was.
With a few changes here and there (speakers, amp).

I used to have kitties. Then I started working away from home and now I'm petless. At some point though...
How do you like the Dulcets compared to the Reynauds?
liked them a whole LOT, but the Trente are just magic
Not to worry, there's always a kitty needs a good home when you're ready again.

My 124 and new SME M2-12R. Rest of the gear is Herron. Speakers are Harbeth C7es3.
Ga-ga-gouie! That is hot!
The problem with threads like these is that it makes a person want to try out even more gear...something I don't really need right now!
I like that arm board!

Sorry about the shim under the Metregon. It is gone now it interfered with the sound stage. I have since swapped out the Scott with a Sherwood S-5000 rebuilt by Mike Samera. By the way I'm stuck at work also and I am the closing manager so I can't leave.

Vintage home theatre! I still have a CRT that would fit right into that rig.
Not stuck at work but breaking in a new pair of speakers....

If I had more space, those open baffles would be on my short list to try. They seem like a screaming good deal, and I live 25 minutes away from the Canadian distributor.

This simple rig has been stable for almost two years now...although I'm currently using a backup phono stage (not shown in this image) whilst my Wright WPP100C is being refreshed.

I have the same Audiomat amp. Mine needs servicing and now I've also got some very inefficient micro-speakers so I'm not sure if it will fit back into the system very well.
Love Reynaud speakers. I heard a set at the Montreal Audio Show years ago and they were right up my alley. Life's too short to try it all though.
I love the way the Reynaud Bliss play music! Before choosing the Bliss I purchased three pairs of speakers and had them all in-house at the same time for extended auditioning, knowing I would sell two or more pairs after the auditioning ended. The auditioning lasted for weeks although I had a clear preference in the first few days. In the end the GMA Callisto and Harbeth 7es2 left and the Reynaud stayed.
Horses for courses and ymmv of course ;)

Just another happy day in the man cave...
Love it! Part of me is a simplest (simpleton?) and would love to settle on one basic rig and just listen to tunes. Another part of me would like to have a system in every room in the house, including a complete vintage system like yours.
Thanks for sharing!
My home office setup. Scott 222c, TD160 w/ Shure V15V, Omega Desktop speakers and Omega sub.
I had a drafting table for a while...once had plans to be a graphic artist. Now it's all done on computer.
Dig the rig...those are some pretty sweet 'desktop speakers'!
I meant to include in my original post:
your plants look fabulous. Nice and healthy. Do you"wheel" them for their daily sun?
I had a beautiful Ficus, but short lived.
Thanks for the compliment, but all the credit goes to my wife. Unfortunately, if I posted a picture of the room today, there would be no plants in it.
I cam home after being away at work (7 days) and when I walked into the house, the first thing I noticed was that the plants were all drooping. The next thing I noticed was I could see my breath. The furnace had stopped working and the temperature was -10 in the house. It ended up being a quick fix (faulty thermostat) but all the plants are in flora heaven now. House looks quite empty.
Something I don't understand about "stuck at work" and "bored". Why not leave work, in that case? What's sticking you?
I work away from home 7 days at a time. In general weekends have much less going on in my role, but being almost 1000 kms from home makes it inconvenient to slip out. That, and I still need a few more paychecks before retirement...like 250 of them.
By all calculations, I can retire, but the thought of retiring is a bit terrifying. I am not happy sitting around my house, although I do have two or three great hobbies to occupy my time. I suspect that the reason I enjoy my hobbies is because they are secondary to my work. If they were primary ways to spend my time, I might not be so enthusiastic. Anyway, at some point soon, I am going to have to find out.
..
I used to swap arms, make armboards, collect cartridges, and generally mess around with an HW-19 MK IV but then 2 years ago I got a Traveler and a ZYX Bloom and now just play records.Last year I completed the 60 Watt KT-88 Mullard 5-20-style Mono Blocks which added to and now have pretty much supplanted the 10 year old UX-45 direct coupled parafeed amp in the foreground. There's a 76 powered JE Labs inspired line stage in the rack.
Other front end goodies are the 3440AH Cinemag SUT and the one item I didn't build but got to name, Steve Brown's Caravaggio tube regulated RCA style phono stage.
Speakers are 4 Pis with latest horns and crossover.

...with the speaker stands?

I brought home the concrete just for a quick and dirty (very dirty) way to try out lifting the speakers preparatory to building stands in 8/4 maple.
They sounded so good and who knew how much the concrete was contributing so I decided not to fuck with it!
I hope you realize I was kidding you.

Sassafras, now, that's funny.
How does this display?
I never figured out how I need to hold the Ipad
And now Harry is right...no antiskate necessary. :)

Stunning rig! Love the Vandersteens!
Is that an LG OLED in the middle? I bought the 65" B6, and it's fantastic.
See ya. Dave
it looks relaxing with great sound. Not a bad place to be on Sunday.
My modest rig would sound much nicer than the computer station at work.
There's a REL B3 equal distance behind the sofa for bass duties.
My office is very much the typical...cold, sterile, no windows. But hey, at least it pays the bills.
Nice rig! Not so 'modest'. Is anyone else seeing this photo turned 90 degrees?
oops! it's the Ipad pic sorrySomeone correct it please....

Here you go....
I was wondering what your antiskate setting was. :)
"I was wondering what your antiskate setting was. :) "
Bcowen-
thanks for the flip! You are aware this subject can start a third WW?
I'm not sure I can hear a difference either way. I do, however use 3 o rings .
No scientific reason other than I read Fremer found using 3 in a VPI setup.
If Harry says AS isn't necessary for his tables, I believe him. But I do think AS in principle is right, so that's my reasoning.
I saw/heard NO difference when I used all 5 o rings, maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Actually, that was my (admittedly) poor attempt at humor. Figured you'd need some serious antiskate with the 'table on its' side in the first picture. :)
Ah...
You're absolutely right! I'm sometimes quite slow when it comes to interpreting forum banter.
In this case, a reason to go against Harry's recommendation.

Well looks like everybody who posted has some nice set ups, one thing I didnt see too much of (0r maybe I missed them) was stand alone tuners, I put a lot of effort into tuners outside antennae free music, and all that goes with it is a must for me. But I did look fast so I would not get lost in what I don't have. Although I am happy with what I own each pc hase a story.

You can't see it in my photos, but I do have a tuner in my system...a NAD 4300. I also have vintage Sansui and Sony ES tuners in storage but I'm currently using an indoor antenna and the NAD gets the best reception where I live (in the sticks!)
One of these days, I will get a suitable roof mount antenna. The closest city has a great college radio station and we have a wonderful listener-sponsored province wide radio station too. I manage to get both of these stations with the indoor antenna, but I would imagine the quality would improve dramatically with an outdoor unit.
Yes a outdoor antennae makes it all so much clearer esp one that rotates. Looking at all the audio makes me wonder how long some people took to put there units together, and with me knowledge of audio has been pretty much in line with several things the knowledge, the money and the patience to slowly thru time develop a nice set up. It has taken time on all points but has always been worth it> I just love music is all.
