Hot on the heals of the "The Wheel" comes - LOVE - The World's First Intelligent Turntable.
I am 'loving" all this innovative thinking around the now elderly vinyl playback experience. I've been thinking for a while that we should be seeing more innovation in this space given the technology advances of the last few decades?
It's just reinventing the wheel.
I'm sorry, but I just LOVE these ideas! That's what they really are...prototypes of ideas that could be more fully developed. They open up a dialogue at a time when it is opportune.
What I would give anything for, is a portable player that LOOKs like the Crosley boxes but that would be of decent quality which could travel (very safely) on a plane.
I plan to go to Europe in a couple of years mostly to visit some record fairs and I can't think of anything that would be cooler than going back to my hotel and being able to SAFELY play some of those LPs...without destroying them.
I'd be more concerned with the safety of playback for my records than expecting great sound..
Am I alone in this longing?
So far, Kickstarter seems to be about selling gimmicky gadgets. The U-Turn table is one of the few exceptions.
Opus 33 1/3
and frying their brains :-)
Seems like it's always been that way.
