They were out of production for quite some time and have only very recently been reintroduced albeit with new cantilever materials and higher prices, as near asI can see.
Follow Ups:
About two years ago the seemingly only source for the boron cantilever rod disappeared overnight and within a period of weeks, the big three (namiki, gyger, and ogura) all stopped taking orders for boron cantilevers. This interestingly also coincided with the end of the original SAS. FLash forward a year and the SAS is now sapphire and a secondary source for Boron has been found and it is available again. There was a period where it was unknown if boron would ever be available again but for the moment the boron lovers can sleep at night.

Thanks for the responses guys , Dave.. ,
These Jico SAS stylus being offered are not expemsive ( less than $100) and shipped from Japan ..
Regards
Where are the SAS being offered for anywhere near $100?
I see non SAS Jico at that price but not the SAS.

My error Dave , they are not SAS , just Jico elliptical .... :(
..that is encouraging to hear.
I believe I read that the supply of boron rod, or boron in general, dried up as it was all commandeered for military purposes. Let's hope that this secondary source is not similarly affected.
It is questionable (to me at least) if the sapphire SAS needle is a good value at the current price. I would like to see the boron cantilever come back at or near the old price. I have a V15 III that I would like to give a try.
