I have that recording, but I can't play it too often because it affects me for days. She was a special musical soul who left us too soon.
The movie, "Hilary and Jackie," is somewhat of a mess:

BTW, the DuPre/Barbirolli Elgar is superbly recorded.
Follow Ups:
One of the pitfalls of biopics like Hilary and Jackie is that they are often too heavily reliant on information from one particular person in the main protagonist's life (perhaps because that person wrote a book), and thus are too heavily skewed towards the viewpoint of that person.Hilary du Pre and her brother wrote a book, A Genius in the Family, and also contributed material for the movie. Their point of view predominates excessively, imho.
Surviving Picasso is another such movie, imho, made after Francoise Gilot, Picasso's longtime companion (whom he never married) and mother of two of his children wrote Life with Picasso, which Picasso unsuccessfully tried to suppress.
Still, two fine movies with two great performances from the leading actors, Emily Watson and Anthony Hopkins, respectively.
