One great but absolutely bizarre show I saw back in the early 70's at the Main Point was Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band followed by Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks. The added Chemistry going on that night probably had an influence but it was an outstanding event. I recall it was an unusually long performance as well.
Commander Cody with the Lost Planet Airmen was also a period favorite.
They just don't make them like that any more.

Did you have warm gingerbread with whipped cream? If that's the same Main Point I know that was one of their specialties. A great little, intimate venue.Still spinnin'...

I was big on the ice cream sundaes. That was a wonderful place to hang out. John and Peter's in New Hope was a great folkie center at the time as well.
There was also a venue (or maybe just a bar) in Mount Airy that escapes me.
I saw Sun Ra and Funkadelic there.

I believe I was at that show. Great venue!
