Went to spin some records on the Delphi after not running it for a couple of weeks and it doesn't turn on. After some testing, I found the Dynamic Isolator was the issue. I replaced the DC male jack which somehow lost conductivity between the outer barrel and the negative lead, and a 1k resistor next to it that was open. I'm getting 30v out of my power supply but when I test it thru the isolator, I get 18v that slowly moves up to about 23v and tapers off. Hooking that to the Oracle I get a brief light when I turn it on, then it fades off, and the platter never spins.
Can I run it directly off the 30v power supply? I found a previous post where the person had a similar isolator issue and someone said they run theirs straight from power, but then another response said the isolator was essential in that it drops the voltage from 24v down to 18v for the turntable. I can't find specs online anywhere for the power requirements on the mkII. I guess I'm still relieved that my issue is not the Delphi motor(I ran the power direct only for a few seconds and it spun fine) but I'm a bit reluctant to remove the isolator and run it direct if that could cause potential damage.

Hi There,
You can plug in your table right in off of your wall wart supply.. the dynamic isolator was a add on product which really was a bank of capacitors between the wall wart and table.
As long as you have the original spec wall wart you should be ok.
You can rebuild the dynamic isolator if you crack it open it won't be too difficult to rebuild.
I would suggest you talk to Oracle. I have found them to be very, very helpful. It is quite possible they have a wall wart they can sell you reasonably.
My experience with Oracle customer service was extremely good. They really want to satisfy the customer.

Yep, that's what separates the wheat from the chaff in audio and all business, actually giving a damn about the folks who have bought your product.
I have a custom power supply I think the previous owner built, in a box maybe 4"x8"x10" with a big 'ol lamp cord coming off of it for the jack(bigger than the power cord to the power supply actually). I opened the isolator to replace the resistor and jack, but don't know what else i'm looking at inside there :-(
Well that's different then . Modified- you didn't specify that. I owned and played with Oracle turntables for about 25 years.
Taking a picture of what you have will help if you've modified the table.
Contacted Oracle and they said with the 22v out of the isolator, it might be a capacitor issue. Also said that 30v might be too much and if i were to go that route, i should mod the power supply and get it down to 26v. They sent me a sketched schematic of the isolator in case i want to repair it further. Don't know much about capacitors though, or even how to test them :(
...of the insides of the isolator. I'm sure you would get some help from the folks here...
Best,
Dan
