...and I'm glad to see the arm worked out.
I've had three QL-50s. Two with the SME III and one with a Luxman/Micro-Seiki TA-1. It is one the the easier tables to cut a blank armboard for.
Given what QL-50s usually sell for, I think they are very nice.
I hope you are enjoying yours.

Yeah definitely ... but for buyers get one with an arm and then you have a steal!
BTW the PT-6 is a nice arm - should I be considering dampening it, is it reversible?

This will provide just enough dampening without choking out the inner detail in the music.
Rewire that arm when you have a chance. The stock wiring is just passing from my experience.
You gotta love the speed stability on these quartz locked direct turntables.
Cheers!

No need to wrap the tonearm. It comes stock with a wrap of clear polyolefin.
You can adjust for viscous damping at the pivot point simply by adding
silicone fluid. It is a versatile good sounding arm. I like mine on my AR ES1. Enjoy.

Very nice! I have a JVC QL-A7, a five dollar yard sale find. If it were not for the lack of 78 RPM capability, it would be in daily use.
It's quite good, excellent. Loves playing Joni Mitchell Blue!I noticed I was more than a bit aggressive cleaning the OC9 and then the PS went on the blink when I tried to play a silly 45.
So the Xerxes got retired.
This one had just been retired to make way for a CD player (+ my DD automatic, of course).
But it was a quick comeback .... very very nice
QL-A7 is even better!

You will eventually go back to the Xerxes. It's got more mojo. Maybe you can push start it on 45? Also reapply pledge polish on the belt.
Oh it's not permanentBut that's not to belittle this table. It is quite good, very stable.
Like the Xerxes you can jump up and down immediately in front of it to no effect.
Take a Rega 3 and put it on a exceptional support and it transforms into a killer.
This table already has a lot of that built in.
I can wiggle the platform with a finger to *no effect*! Unreal.
I noticed the JVC doing that when it was on top of my most lightweight stand.
It took a big step up in the new position.
Whenever I played it I simply switched to the Xerxes since it was so much better.
Surprisingly I don't have that sense of let down now - you'd be surprised.
