Hello,
I recently placed a WTB ad in the Asylum trader for a Thomas Schick tonearm for my Lenco build. I received the following e-mail, but I am suspicious that it may be a scammer as the pic looks like it may have been lifted off of the web. Has anybody had any dealings with this person or recognize the turntable in the pic?

Yes Jaun,
I am still looking. Please provide pics as well as your asking price.
Also, if you can provide a link to your feedback or references on any of the
audio sites as I am a bit wary about buying from someone overseas.
Thanks,
Bill

Thanks for the help. The guy obviously pasted the turntable photo from that webpage and is a scammer. There should be a way of banning him from the site?

rofl = I'll translate...
"it work perfectly well.."
"Hello - bad grammar usually means this is a scammer, but don't worry, read on..."
"Look clean and excellent."
---- make sure you shower and put on that excellent suit before sending money
"What can you offer"
--- "How stupid are you that you would even think about sending me money?"
"let me know which one you prefer and i"
--- "I decided to cut off the rest of that sentence, lest you think I'm a scammer"
I stopped at "Good Day"...as that seems to be the way scammers address people...

On Innerworld Audio:
I'd steer clear of a Western Union or a bank transfer payment to a foreign seller unless I was somehow convinced they weren't a scammer.
I've had out of the country people buy things from me via Audiogon adds and I had a bank transfer for around $4000 BUT I had lots of excellent feedback on Audiogon and I gave my E-Bay seller name too so they could see that feedback also.
Smells like fish.

I'd steer clear. The Western Union is usually a good tip-off that it 's a fraud
