I have an Ariston Enigma arm I'm attempting to resurrect. Right off the bat I see that the counterweight is sagging a bit. In other words, if you follow the arm to the pivot point, it is not straight through to the end. The rear portion where the weight sits is angled down slightly. I've noticed this before on other tonearms by various manufacturers. Is this an issue or is it purely cosmetic? I assume some sort of rubber bushing is sagging or something of that nature? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have the Opus arm (very similar) and cannot figure out how to balance it, please help me understand how the counterweight moves . . .
People pay big money to buy an after market droped counter weight.
Yours is built in, possibly by a blow to the end stub. How does it sound?
That arm, and others, uses rubber to decouple/damp the counterweight. It tends to sag over time. All mention I've seen suggests it's not a problem, some even claim it benefits the arm due to center of gravity being lowered. :)
Short’s the best position they is. Bullet in the Brain
a little sagging won't affect anything's. so don't worry about it .

As you can see, it's drooping quite a bit....
