Yesterday I picked up a equalizer so I headed to Radio Shack to pick up a pair of Auvio interconnects. After I left I decided to head the the used bookstore next door. Up on the wall by the records were some jazz records. Kind of Blue, Porgy and Bess and a New Jazz Quartet album. I picked them all up for less than $30.
I only have had a chance to listen to one side of KoB, it needs good cleaning but plays fine. It has surface scratches but they don't affect play.
I was pretty happy.

Gads! If this was at Bookman's, I guess I have to look at the wall some more! I just keep going automatically to the tiny classical section....

It was at Bookman's. They had some over priced rock and this for $6.

I'm not sure what the "Six Eye" is - a label or a band? But if you've picked up Miles Davis' "Kind Of Blue" for a really right price, you've got an excellent find! (I'm thinking that it's on Blue Note or Columbia.) They've been known to go for several hundred dollars in good condition.
It was the Miles Davis "Kind of Blue". The album is on Columbia. There are eye shaped things on the side of the label, in the 50s there were three on each side and these are six eye labels. In the 60s they went to one on each side of the label and these are two eye labels.

Excellent score!
$6??!!!
Someday i will find one. Another AA buddy at least posted a picture of HIS copy!!! Ladt time I mentioned my dream find.(which I have NOT YET FOUND...
and I would only buy 6-eye Columbia lp's if they were promo copies. Unlike most of the records I collected, this one isn't in perfect shape, but it is one of the best sounding copies I have ever heard. I also have Miles' Porgy and Bess on a six-eye promo pressing.
Here you go Elizabeth, some photos of my Kind of Blue. The label photo I posted in the other post wasn't mine but a photo I found online. These photos are mine all mine! :)

.
I'm wondering if your period release has the same weird sonic shortcoming-my pressing(current reissue) So What horns in the right channel
intro response after Paul Chambers bass lines get "frizzy". Hear it also on
CD. Curious thinking less than perfect tape it was mastered from? Some report no such thing on their copy.
The next time I play the record I'll listen for it.

But the ones you found are not good...send them to me and I will properly dispose them.
