Has anyone tried this... copper - silver?
Any feedback would be appreciated.

We have used Michael for Cardas tonearm wire upgrades on various versions of the VPI JMW 12" Arms (not on the "i" designaed arms with Nordost wire). He has used both the standard Cardas clips & the Signature clips for us.
You will be happy with the results!

Qui tacet consentit.
It's teflon insulated copper, litz. From what I understand, the conductors are the same Cardas litz wire they sell as by the foot for internal tonearm wiring. Difference is the added jacket and shield. Some have used this shielded version for a straight run from tags to RCA plugs, stipping back enough of the outer jacket to be able to run the individual wires inside the arm. Obviously an additional ground wire would/could be run as well.
Thanks, I couldn't find that sort of info on the material used.
Just ordered 2' from TPC for internal preamp wire.
A little tough to solder. Technically, the enamel from the individual strands needs to be removed. Lots of ways to do it, from careful scraping with a razor edge to using a solder pot. I believe the solder pot is Cardas' recommended method. But whatever works.
I didn't know that.
Any other ideas you might share on how to remove the enamel?
I don't have a solder pot.
These wires are thin, therefore even a real hot soldering tool will "burn" the "litz" enamel off. I've also used light sandpaper.
You should consider that Cardas tonearm wires take a relatively long time to break-in, with a distinct sound all there own.

Does the enamel burn and melt off or go up in smoke?
I have a Hakko soldering station and a Hakko desoldering gun.
Perhaps tinning the litz with the desoldering gun which is very hot, then suck it all up?
