Hifiengine has manuals with pictorals and schmetices for both the PS-1 and PAM-1. The overall specs (voltage and current)for the PS-1 are listed in that manual as are the voltage readings for the supply.
Just sign up to access the HiFiengine, click on library then scroll to find Dynaco listings.
The PS-1 couldn't be more simple. Sourcing the power xfmr may take some looking but there's no real need, besides space, to have the filament xfmr in the same package and that's what it may take to locate one.
Years ago a friend built a supply for me to run two McIntosh C-8 Preamps and that's even simpler because it uses a diode as the rectifier. I also used that same supply with a minor B+ voltage tweak to power two home made Marantz Model 1 Electronic Crossovers.
That was back around 1980 and the Stancor power xfmr was around $30 then. I bet they are in the $80 plus range now but it was an overkill xfmr unlike the ones they used from the factory.

....and having an outboard supply for the preamps is much better than sucking off the MKiiis. However, and IMHO, the preamps are just no where near the quality of the MKiii. The preamps depend on lots of feedback and other nasties. The MKiiis deserve a better preamp. My suggestion, just use a nice tube preamp of high quality for the time being, and when the power supply for the PAM preamps shows up jump on it. By then you will be used to the better preamp and will now have the complete set, but will probably continue to enjoy the better preamp.

Hi Dave,
with a schematic and the right transformer, which you just listed, I think I could build one. You also gave me enough info to inspire me to do it.
Then came Viridian and he is right too. I really don't need these as I have a nice modded PAS going fine. I'll keep looking.
As far as performance I get what you mean but to see a preamp as old as me come to life might be like restoring a Model T or Harley. I think that show American Restoration has me thinking more retro than specs worthy like I was obsessed with when Hi-fi grabbed my fancy in the mid 70's.
Thanks guys....Mark K.
