I have a 6060 I play on almost a daily basis. Love that amp! I've not modified any of the RC network packages, but I did upgrade all PS caps and coupling caps. I also increased the global NFB resistor, I think stock is 10k, don't remember what I moved it to, but opened up the sound a good bit.

Thanks Steve, I had heard about the 6060 about 20 years ago from some guys in NYC that were collecting and comparing tube equipment, that said it was outstanding. I had never heard one. I just picked this up, the last owner had updated PS and coupling, basically everything but the networks. He also added switch pentode to triode and amplifier only. In amplifier only triode, it floored me, so taking a closer look now at the preamp section.
I have a pair of output TX's from these. Looking forward to building a pair of amps around them. I snagged the first when I started hearing this sort of thing. Am not all that fond of the OE circuit, but a significantly simplified, no gNFB circuit ought to be outstanding...:)
cheers,
Douglas
Friend, I would not hurt thee for the world...but thou art standing where I am about to shoot.
