Does anyone know who the distributor for van den Hul is now? I heard that in the past it was Bluebird, and that there was a negative impression of them. More recently Eugene Hifi took over; when I dealt with them my experience was exemplary. But I can't find out if they are still in business at all. Does anyone know that? The van den Hul website lists Bluebird now, but I'm not sure that is right.

They are still in business. Here ya go!
Randy Forman is the new distributor.
Thanks very much for the replies. I really meant to post this in the Vinyl Asylum, not the vintage asylum.
Does anyone know what happened to Eugene Hifi?
Priced out of competition?
A few years ago I checked with them for a repair of an off-center cantilever on a vdH cartridge but found it excessive. Apparently vdH would not accept repairs from America sent directly to him, only through the distributor. So I went with Soundsmith.
Hopefully the current distributor is more reasonable.

I don't understand your post. Are you suggesting that Eugene Hifi was priced out competition? Because of van den Hul's policies? But Eugene Hifi's main business was as a stereo store.
They (van den Hul and Eugene) handled my repair very reasonably indeed.
I don't know if they were priced out by competition. That's why I put in the ? mark.
All I could go on were comments others made about direct vdH service and pricing and what Eugene quoted me. I don't recall the figures now but Soundsmith was much less, even for what I assumed to be a simple repair of a mis-aligned cantilever.
Obviously vdH had some reason for changing his US distributor.
