who is related to the late Robert Fulton.
So excited, although the system is placed in a less than ideal but still very enjoyable space.
Replaced a darker grey plastic RCA all in one with ported small speakers, broken dual deck cassette and cd player, functional tuner. Hmmm.
I'm surprised that you don't listen to lps. There's whole vistas ahead in your retirement.
Who said that?
Own 1800 LPs mostly at least vg+ More later
Thought that when I reviewed your system there was not a turntable listed. May have misread.
3 systems, the one I linked was my office gear, loaned to my buddy.
Profile has them listed. My stuff is playin' around vs the gear run by you all.
Yes, vinyl would work for him but he is away a lot.
One thing I worry when I retire w/ regards to our hobbies , I hope I can still drive my vintage sports cars , I hope my listening faculties are still intact , and Im sure wont be able to play football ( soccer ) anymore. I hope I can still walk and see Europe . All these hobbies of mine were took the backseat because of our children .
Hope this works better, don't know what I am doing here anymore, using AA less. See my edited profiles. You guys have very good and more expensive gear.
A very good, "full", warm system. Not as squeaky clean and sterile. Have you folks tried any subs for under $300?
Retirement gives me freedom to err and a bit more time to tinker.
House fixes demand a lot more and esp my loved one. Proper priority.

Can you or your acquaintances DIY? Apex Jr. has highly affordable "plate" amps and some speaker drivers. Build/buy the enclosure and some budgetary cash will be left for "software".
Hey docw, congrats on the retirement. It's something I highly recommend. At least as long as one has hobbies to keep occupied, that should be easy for any Inmate here.
So were you able to wire up the FMI speakers with the recommended length of either Brown or Gold wire? ;^)

Double as a sofa to boot.
We discussed that a bit amusingly. My friend was content w short runs of 10g OFC SoundKing.
If I remember, Bob Fulton recommended something like 57" as ideal for short runs, although he preferred longer options.
I think member drlowmu has lots of information about Fulton if you might be interested.

Recently retired Doc number three here!
Keep busy and start enjoying your old and some new interests.
Me personally, I started hiking and off roading with my new Jeep Wrangler out in the Sonoran Desert - Yeehaw!!!
Wildflowers haven't been this good in 20 years. If you haven't done this trail, it is very good. Suggest you do it reverse direction, start at Seven Springs.
I've been hiking on average three to four trails a week during wildflower season. So far the prettiest trail was the White Tank Mountain's Waterfall trail. It's a real tourist trail but worth the trip. I'm sure it's past peak by now.
This week we plan on going back to the Superstition Mountain area. We found a really nice trail off the Bulldog Canyon trailhead. I think they are still developing that trail but it is beautiful.
I was just looking over the Seven Springs area yesterday. I want to Jeep to the top of Humboldt mountain and see the radar dome.
That's excellent, you sure have the right vehicle for getting to these places. And the weather is perfect right now.
Years ago friends of ours were hiking in the Superstitions, it was a warm day, he had taken his shirt off. His wife said she wished she could do that. He encouraged her, said there is no one around. She did and they go over the next rise and run into a troop of boy scouts. I told her now if you see them they all have their breast sighting merit badges.
I think about a horrible Air Force T-38 crash while I was in pilot training at Williams Air Force Base.
Two other student pilots and myself were driving back to the base at night from a movie in Phoenix. We saw this huge fireball in the Superstation Mountain area East of the base, and would later learn that it was one of the student pilots flying visually at night for training purposes. Lots of fast airplane but way too little flying experience. Of course, that was true of all of us at this time in our earliest days of flying.
I was a kid in the 70's riding my bicycle down Rockaway twpk in the rain. Heard what sounded like a truck driving into a bunch of those metal garbage cans. Looked over and saw parts of a plane winging over the road way in flames.
Ronny Pollitano and myself were the first two people on the seen for about 20 or so minutes. Yeah, two young teens standing in the middle of an airliner debris field with bodies all over the place. Then a cop drove up and said "hey get out of there". That was the crash that spurred on the technology for wind shearing.
Sorry you had to see that, and certainly one you will never forget.
The windshear training is very extensive now and part of every pilot's flight exam every six months. Aircraft are now equipped with windshear detectors and voice command instruments.
Amazing what we don't know about each other and yet our shared in music just awesome!!!
Doctor #4 here , Im still long way off from retirement am still going to send my children to college & graduate school . At least 3 fellow inmate doctors are already fulfilled .
Of retirement age but was still working full time until health issues made me part time. At least no nights or weekends, but feeling well is better. Will call it a career in a few yrs at 70. Norm
Health took me out early as well. I broke my C6/7 and had a plate fusion. It took me out of the OR.
I'm 58 and doing well otherwise but the pain is a bitch. And as we all well know from our patients what the future may bring - I'm out enjoying today!!!!
Between that, ICD-10 codes and EMR - waiter - CHECK PLEASE!!!
Go do something nice will ya!
great music and spinning. As a fellow doc I've enjoyed being retired for the past couple of years. Don't wake up at 3 AM anymore!
Cooking up my next system for our own bedroom or another space.
I edited and updated my profiles.
Spend time serving Jesus, others and guys like Fulton's relative!
Appreciative people, for the most part. Now to get younger people esp Millenials into our game.
if I hear another person complaining that I was going to tell them how "I" felt!!!! And my political view as well - Take THAT!!!
Scared the heck out of me... I thought you were here !!
It's not me. It is DocW next to his Fultons. I pulled it off a link in his system.
do you know how to fix that, only left side displayed and whole pic is panned in.
I plug in the link and hope. The subtitles allude me.
Haven't posted pics for a long time, keep getting super close up and fuzzy pics. Wanted to post on speaker box in system graphic.
