Maybe go to a hardware store that has the bins of bolts, and buy a variety of sizes. Cost is around 10 cents each. Try them and than you will know. There can not be that many options.

Thanks, Charlie, I was thinking about taking one of the speed nuts there and making a match, we have an Ace hardware nearby that would do the trick.
If of value, when I'm looking for small screws I've found going to a local long established private Hardware store tended to have more of what I wanted, and I could buy just one rather than a bag. You might also want to try the Tractor Supply. They might also be a good option to consider.
turns out they were 8-32 machine screws, I thought they would be self-tapping screws like you see in manu of their other products.

all the best,

yes, believe 8-32 is correct.
I was more concerned with getting the same screw head style to match the originals.
Have 4 HF-30s; 2 early and 2 later versions.
Be sure to try some better coupling caps, since these amps really come to life with better caps.
have also tried NOS US and Euro output tubes, but find I like the Russian 6P14p EV as among the most musical sounding tubes...

thanks, finding period correct screw heads are a bit of a problem, we have guy in the radio club that tears down old gear and sells the parts, tube sockets, pots, etc., and now vintage screws and nuts at 40-50 nuts/screw for a buck, can't beat that price and for those tiny 6-32 nuts used back in the day that you can't find, a real bargain! And yes, I restored these amps totally with new K42Y coupling caps.
speed nuts notwithstanding.
Just wanted to mention that, based on the other EICOs I've encountered over the decades.
all the best,
mrh
