These are out of a professional Reel recorder and have no use in home audio. He is right in that the tubes could be worth $100.

Or not much at all depending on their condition thus the risk. I can see them being worth more too.

I picked up a pile of modules like the one shown at a flea market for $1.00 US ea. All branded "Ampex" and complete with tubes. Based on markings and what seller conveyed, they were from some sort of lab/industrial multi channel analog data recorder: not audio as such. Mostly high quality glass/epoxy PCB construction. Tubes were nothing special. Salvageable parts were some decent porcelain tube sockets/shields and a few "Vit-Q" caps. Based on this, I expect the auction to not live up to sellers expectations....OR. I trashed some real treasures.
