Greetings, I'm a first-time DIY speaker builder looking for a monitor (2 way or MTM - will also consider a slender floorstander) kit in the 500 dollar range (I'm flexible, but have a budget) that comes with everything but the cabinets. Assembled crossovers would be nice, but is not essential. My room is quite small - 10'6" by 15' - and the speakers have to be placed on the long wall. I listen to most everything - lots of jazz, pop, electronica, indie guitar, etc. Ideally, I'd like speakers that are resolving and detailed without being fatiguing. A wide sweetspot would be great, as would reasonable off-axis performance.
And finally, higher than average efficiency is a plus but not a showstopper.
Yeah, I know, I want it all :)
So far, I've been looking at the Madisound MTM's and monitors, GR-Research's A/V series and the North Creek Okara II and Eskar.
Anything else come to mind? Comments greatly appreciated.
Follow Ups:
They have a half dozen options at various price points, some with premium drivers, and they include cabs, which unless you want soemthing more exotic than a vented box design isn't worth the bother anyway. High efficiency from small monitors is tough, but with your size room you don't need it anyway; 85dB would be quite sufficient assuming you have more than 10WPC. For high efficiency (93dB or better) you'd have to go Fostex or Lowther in rear-loaded horns, and those you'd have to build yourself.

Madisound has a Peerless two-way kit job that is interesting...
