WEll i decided not to get stands right now due to budget, and that fact that im not really sure which ones to get..... so that leaves me with the choice of going to home depot and buying some concrete stepping stones (as reccomended by you guys). I basically know what kind of glue and stones to get, just not sure if i should put something between the bottom stone and the floor ( i have a solid wood non suspended floor) so it wont mess up the floor and maybe make it sound better?, maybe some kind of rubber or something? Also which is better round or square pieces? Any comments will be greatly appreciated since im going to head down to the store sometime today. Thanks

Im pretty sure i want to connect the speakers tot he cement blocks somehow, so no dumb ass kicks them over while there all drunk or something. If i use 'Vibra Pods' or 'Blu-Tak' will this stuff mess up my speakers finish if i decide i want to remove the speakers from the stands?

i built a pair for a set of surround speakers to sit on. i made them out of patio stones and bricks, using "hard as nails" as the glue. they each have to weigh at least 250 lbs. home depot had rolls of this 1/4" thick rubber padding by the carpet dept. i put this on the bottom. works pretty good. its definetly solid. i had to build it in place. with the speaker placed on it, its well over 6" tall. my wife really loves them.
