HiI live in Toronto and go to Kitchener/Waterloo once in a while. I need to get lead shot for my speaker stands but cannot find anywhere selling it. Asked a guy in HD, he told me it had been banned as a poisonous substance. Anyone knows where i can get lead shot or a substitute near these places?
Follow Ups:
there is a gun shop on Wilson near yorkdale in toronto that I have purchased shot at. Buy the small size pellets I think it was around $20 FOR 20 kilos.

Thanks a lot everyoneI will try to find Silica sand, as it was found the best filler (subjective of course)
You can purchase shotgun steel from registered gun dealers or your local mafia kingpin...It cost me over 250$ to fill my Atacama stands.
Heavy mass but not cost effective. They come in different sizes (numbers).
I would probably go for dried sand if...

It is available in BC through trap/skeet clubs. You can buy the used shot more cheaply.

Hi Alex. I have the tubing of my equipment rack and a box holding my amp filled with fine-grain sand, which I've found to give better acoustic results than lead shot. You might try giving sand a try instead of lead shot (which has been banned because of the danger to migratory birds). If you need extra weight, you can mix some lead fishing-tackle weights in with the sand.Warm regards,

or if you are ambitious, make your own shot with a steel sprinkler head and a bucket ov water. Pour the molten lead into the head and when the droplets hit the water you have your lead sand.
The mix of lead sand and quartz will probably work better than either one alone.
Just make sure it is properly protected( that is you are properly protected form it).
regards,
Douglas
