is it necessary to use faced insulation when building the wall panels - i'm having a tough time finding this stuff.is there something i could use in place of this i.e. regular insulation plus some kind of paper sheeting ?
thanks

It is a matter of how clever you are, to be able to use the fiberglass without the backing, and make it stay up in the frame, with out sagging to the bottom. You can not staple the fiberglass itself into place, hot melt will not hold it, it tears loose right next to the affixed portion.
It might be possible to use a cloth backing and spray adhesive to hold the fiberglass onto a cloth backing, and then tack the cloth into place around the edges of the frame. Then if the front is covered with the poly and burlap, this should help hold it in place top to bottom, etc.
Make sure any fumes associated with the spray adhesive are allowed to dissipate before bringing the panels into the house/sound room, and have plenty of ventilation when applying the spray to the cloth.
