Cooper Carbon Aerogell Supercaps.Thats a real mouthfull...but the caps are unreal.
Get this... 1 Farad 2.5 volt caps...The size of a filter from a cigarette. But the good news is the Ultra low ESR.... .090ohms@1khz...
So just in case you are thinkin...Yea,, those big ass caps are sure to be slooow ...well , You would be way Wrong.
Ive placed them after the voltage regs (strung them up in series to get the right voltage) I pulled out those Big expensive Black Gates...and Oh My God...these are good no, not good but great. And they are fast...really fast.
Maybe you could lose the voltage reg altogether?
Go look them up on www.Digikey.com
Price...$4.14 each...
Digikey Part number283-2498-nd
Try a few in a key place on your SACD player...
My cheapo Sony SCD222ES loves them in the 5volt supplies and the 7+/- supply for the Burr Brown Buffer...
FYI the Reference Audio Silver Tranny at the tail end of the Burr Brown Buffer really shines things up.

Follow Ups:
wouldn't it be cheaper to to use the PA-5R0474, @$4.47? By the Cooper documentation, these are simply two of the A1020-2R105(s) already in series? For less than 10% more your getting a prepackaged version with 2 of the 2.5v 1F caps? (half the capacitance an twice the ESR and voltage)They're about cheaper at mouser.com.
Have you compared the PowerStor caps with solid aluminum polymer caps (OS-CONs, etc...), with similar ESRs, but lower capacitance?

Thanks of the headsup!!
I did not like the OS-CONs conpared to the Coopers....
As to the price...Cooper sent them to for free...(I guess a was able to spin some kind of reasonable story)...
I placed a large order from Digikey yesterday....Im gonna use them anywhere I can...
