Turns out, for me, the *u**ing AC outlet is Pandora's Box.What I've proven to myself--and I was dubious about this to say the least--is that changing the stupid thing has an effect. I'm not convinced this effect is worth tinkering with.
Right now, after many hours of running in, my new "orange" outlet is sounding just fine. But my stock, supplied-by-the-careless-contractor standard AC outlet was never a problem or a question until I dicked with it.
Perhaps that's because, unknowingly, I tuned the system to the AC feed that was already there. And "improving" same had a negative effect on the whole.
If you're happy with your sound now, don't assume you'll get happier with a new "plug".
Gawd. No wonder civilians think we're nuts.
:-)
I was pleased with the improvements I got with the Leviton over the $.99 special the contractors used in my house. I can only hope that for another $40 there will be further improvements. If not, I'll chalk it up to the Laws of Diminishing Returns.....
