Just a note about passive radiators, they don't make a speaker a 2.3 way anymore than a port does. A passive radiator is just a bass reflex port substitute where the mass of the passive radiator is a substitute for the amss of the air in the port. There are some differences between a passive radiator and a port, not unmeaningful,
but they're monor. Just because it looks like a driver doesn't mean that much except in salesmanship; it cam make a 2-way look like a 3-way to the uninitiated if the seller tries to sell it as a 3-way. Polk used to do that when they first got started calling their passive radiator a fluid coupled woofer.

Follow Ups:
at least the marketing people in that case proved to be sharks. The passive radiator functions in some way 'cleaner' than a bass-reflex in that it prevents bass-reflex 'pipe harmonics' in the midrange. Suspension linearity must be good though.
