  For low current draw, the 5520 is a fine/better choice. Only when you get above 5 amps or so would the 5524 or paralleled 5520's be needed. And yes, paralleled 5520's would be fairly close to the 5524 rating. Hope this helps.

      For a high draw power amp, but not for preamps or other low draw components.

        Hi Jon,
        Gotcha---5520's good for low level up to 600w.
        Parallel for high current amps only.

        In a word, are these acceptable for low current subwoofers LT 1A and/or
        tube mono's around 3A total?
        Or does headroom play into this equation?
