Hi guys,Please help me!!! My Jolida got the PROBLEM! I have a Jolida 302A and just did my first mod without knowing too much about it. I just replaced the stock resistors, capacitors, and diodes with better ones, Riken resistors, Musicap, and Hexfred. After the mod, I was quite excited because of new and better sound. Instead of enjoying and satisfaction, I was in shock. There was no sound from left channel! Only pretty loud humming noise. Such an audiophile and DIY person like you can definitely help me out here.
Thanks
Follow Ups:
That loud hum could be from something as innocuous as a bad solder joint to a blown output section. As you are admittedly not knowedgable about these things a visit to a competant repairman would be prudent. Otherwise you may do even more damage trying to fix what you did.Treat this as a learning experience- we've all fried something at some point.

Thank you for your post and sincere advice! I appreciate it BUNCH!However, I already fixed the problem. It was one resistor that I cut its legs too much and wasn't soldered properly. Now I am enjoying the sound a lot. It has more details, cleaner, little wider soundstage, bit better layering, etc. There are few more things I can do to make it even better. So I would try them very carefully, getting all the info and start mod because I don't want to fry my amp.
By the way, do you know how to convert pentode to triode?
Thank you
Hi Very Newbie;Glad to see that your amp is a-okay now!
Please take no offence, but in the future when doing mods, I would suggest that you only change one component at a time - then test it. That way if anything goes awry, you automatically know what to look for. I've learned that one the hard way myself...
Anyway, good luck on all your DIY and
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thanks Morse! I think that's a great idea. I will do that.
By the way, do you know how to convert pentode to triode? I need to pin diagram for el34. Haven't found one yet.
http://www.duncanamps.co.uk/cgi-bin/tdsl3.exe/The conversion is easy and involes adding a resistor. Sorry but I don't know the value off hand. After the conversion your amp will have less output wattage (power). Most would say triode is a bit sweeter sounding and pentode is a bit punchier sounding. Ultralinear is between. I have no idea how the Jolida is connected in stock form. Do you have a schematic?
Good luck,
Russ
P.S. The advice to do only one thing at a time is sound advice. Not only does it help if something goes wrong but it allows you to know which tweak or mod accounts for which change in sound.

Thank you, Russ!I already looked up that site. I got some idea too.Thank you for your advice too. Since I don't have much time to do this mod, I did tend to mod couple of or more things together. However, I will remember your advice. I think it's very useful for later.
Yes, I do have a schematic. If you want to look at it, please email me so that I can send it to you for your review.
Thank you again
