Hi,I just got a stepped attenuator built with the Elma 2 pole by 24 position switch. My problem now is I forgot where the ground connection is. Just wonder if anyone could offer any advice.
The stepped attenuator comes in a box saying Model SA224S but I can't find anything like that in the Elma web sites, both Europe and US.
The guy who sold me the attenuator did mention the two leads are the outputs. The input is in the lug where no solder is. However, I can't remember whether he mentioned anything about the ground. He might just do but I didn't have any recollection of that.
Thanks for your help.
Follow Ups:
Simple: connect signal ground to attenuator position 1 (the positions are etched on the front side of the switch).
I assume that this is a regular ladder or series attenuator and that the input signal is connected to position 24.
Signal out is connected to the wiper.
This is very easy to verify, because Elma switches have transparent plastic covers.
Good luck
Carlos

Thanks for the advice.Yup, the Elma switch does have the etching of position numbers. That's a big help.
