it's not the signature series model - I'm alrady burning the CDs at low speeds and tried several kinds of media. Tonight I'll try a 1X speed burn. I read in an archived post that resetting the player by unplugging it for a while may work, but I doubt it - it's trying to mount the CD as one can clearly hear, it just doesn't ever start playing.
