Great Post!I have a question though... Why didn't you mention using multiple drivers wired in series-parallel? I am thinking about using 8 Audax 5" carbon fiber drivers and 8 Audax domes (per speaker) in a line source configuration to be driven by a pair of 300b amps (B-Glow).
Am I going the wrong direction?
It should be plenty efficient and real dynamic. With the right combination I should also be able to keep the impedence up. The bottom end will be 2 12" powered subs up to 60 hz.
Thanks

Hi there,I do not mention Series parallel because:
Just for a moment think about the series wired drivers.... And back EMF....
Anyway.
I feel that it is not quite as good an idea as I initially thought. And you Audax 5" Drivers won't go very low. So you still need a massive Woofer.... If you could get the 5" Drivers with a 16 or 2 ohm Voicecoil, now you might be onto something.
Try it out, I'm as much of multiple Drivers as I am off multiple parallel Valves.... Then again, the maker of the "beat speakers in the world" uses eight (nine actually) small Woofers per channel. And they are all wired in series. Could they possibly be wrong....?

Can I get some more info on these?
Thanks.
