Is that your couch so close to the speakers? Are you set up the wide way or the long way? If you are 13 deep and 19 wide change it around, you will be very happy. Put your couch right up against the back wall. This will greatly improve you bass and help your brain deal with reflections giving you better perceived imaging.
Here is site:
http://www.immediasound.com/Speakersetup.htmlMoving your speakers wider will give you wider soundstage at the expense of pinpoint imaging if you go to far. I was able to get my speakers pretty far apart 12-14' with no problem (did this for projector image). Toeing them in will restore focus but kill some of the width.
Moving them away from the wall give the soundstage depth. I have the front of mine about 5' from the front wall.
I went (still going) through what you are. Having just moved my new room is much bigger and open to the left. I am getting there, it takes time. Grab a roll or two of insulation from your local HW store. Stick it in the corners stacked two high. You can take them back. Do this even if you don't seem to have the room Takes 2 minutes makes a big difference.
I just saw the pic of your setup, The large cyliders in the corners must be the insulation you talk about. Thats interesting i will have to try that. And another thing, I think its in everyone's blood or something but i dont know how many pics ive seen on peoples setup's and theyve got shrek playing on the widescreen lol. I like your projector wish i had one of them. ThanksHappy Listening.
Those are just the quick and dirty bass traps Jon Risch suggests. I am going to make some real ones and cover them in Guilford so they look like ASC tube traps. I have them stacked 4 high my ceilings are 9'.Shrek happens to be one of the two DVD's that I own. The other is Evil Dead Part 2 won't really show well in picture he, he.
Just give it time. I was hating life when I got setup in my new place. It just comes together real slow.
