Are there any difference between the 3?
If so, why is the Noisehound/BC86 so much more than the other two? Thanks.
... QuietLines are only so good at what they do. They remind me of Cardas RCA caps for you power line. They seem to try & make your AC into a dedicated line. OTOH, Noise Hounds can clense the line. You could buy hundreds of AP:QLs & not obtain the ability of a BC86. Although, if you use 3 Noise Hounds ... whoa

But do you need 3?I saw it at HE2002 and saw its test on how it removed line noise, although when I plugged in a cell phone charger (with its nortorious line noise), it was only mildly effective. I picked one up anyway. Now I need 2 more?
After I stripped the unit open, maybe I'll build a few more on my own... maybe not, since all my DIY are laying around half completed.
I too bought one BC86. I was impressed but had my experience with QLs which noted more was better in parallel AC filters. So, I bought another. At this point I hadn't witnessed the law of deminishing returns. Then, I bought 2 more. Well, at 3 the said law was definitely present in my system. So, I put the 4th on my cheap bedroom system instead.BTW, where do you buy those components & which DIY projects have you got going?

Buy what component? For the noise hound? Not much DIY in terms of electronics.
One is build a hush box for my front projector. Got all the wood, did the cutout, planned all the air flow and strategic placement of sound absorbers, but left it at that. Dunno why, maybe thought the routing of all sides to give it that Sonus Faber look made me hesistant, or maybe it is just that I learned to live with that giant whoosh.
Power cable project. Never got too far with that except for some cables lying around. Started buying commercial cables instead.
Retrofit cable with proper connectors. Got a bunch of Krell power amp cable and wanted to change the 20A IEC to 15A so that I could use it on secondary components like Projector and crossovers. Researched on various IEC, but never got beyond that.
Build my own 30ft HD-15 to HD-15 RGBHV using the Canare V5-5CFB. Never got far on that. The requirement on soldering tiny pins, shaving cable insulation and such to fit that fat wire into a VGA connector made me not go far. The temporary HD15/13W3 converter to 2 13W3 extension cables to another 13W3/HD15 converter is still in place.
Magnepan MG-IIIa reglue. Found a rip too, so approaching that at a leisure pace. Using 1 MG10.1 from the surround channel as substitute for now.
Plus many tweaks that is only in the "maybe I should" like
Build soffit for drop down projection screen
Maggie xo upgrade
Maggie frame stiffening method
GET THE 3M:SUPER-77 NOW!!!DO NOT WAIT!!!
3M has changed SUPER-77'S formula to more environmentally friendly formula
The new stuff contains ACETONE
This will destroy the thin mylar
Supplies of the old stock are getter very rare. It took me several calls to get mine. (My maggies are fine but decided to get the good stuff now) Ask for the all black can!!!
- this was where I found my old stock which REQUIRED a stockroom check to find neglected cases
