Hello everybody,I've bought a 2nd hand Alps Blue 100K (180t 100KAX2) for installing it in a DIY project.
It comes w/o installation instructions, and I haven't been able to obtain them from Alps web. The previous owner is abroad and I can't contact him easily.
It has 3 pairs of pins (2 in position 1, 2 in position 2 and 2 in position 3). BTW, it seems that the previous owner had soldered together pins 2 and 3 in each side.
Where should I connect the input +ve/-ve, output +ve/-ve and ground(s)?
Thank you very much in advance,
Sam
Follow Ups:
The Alps pots I have used, all had 2 sets of 3 pins on top.
Far left pin,(looking from the back), was ground. Middle pin was signal output to circuit, Far right was signal input. This was duplicated on the 3 pins in the back row for the opposite channel.
Hooked up this way, Applying a signal to the far right pin and measuring it at the middle pin, gave attenuation forcounterclockwise rotation. Rotate the shaft full clockwise, and you get full signal output.(0 attenution).
If you have an ohmeter, you can identify the pin connections. Connect 1 lead to hot and 1 lead to ground. Full counterclockwise rotation of the shaft should read around 100,000 ohms.
Full clockwise rotation should read 0 ohms. The unused terminal should be connected to gnd. The hot lead terminal is input. The gnd lead terminal is signal out.
Try this as I think its set up thusly:
1 2 3
right-----> o o o
left -----> o o opin 1 right = right channel gnd.
pin 2 right = right channel output
pin 3 right = right channel inputpin 1 left = left channel gnd.
pin 2 left = left channel output
pin 3 left = left channel input
.
