I just competed building a transformer passive preamp from Sowter (bahttp://www.sowter.co.uk/sed). I puchased it from US agent which you can get to by clicking on "overseas agents."

My kit cost significantly less vs. Bent Audio. The Sowter passive sounds better than my other passive which is a ladder attenuator made with Holco resistors; essentially only 2 resistors in the signal path.

I was told (and now believe) transformer based passives are the best !
