I called their 1-800 ordering line to order 3 sent to me here in AZ. They wanted $50 for shipping added. Birch tables is $15 each. So thats $45 for the tables plus $50 for shipping is $95. Thats too bad. WIsh I could buy those tables locally. :(

While a solitary Ikea Lack is great for turntables like my Rega 25, beware if you are planning to saw some up to make Ken Lyon's Ikea*lyte rack. The legs are no longer solid! They are hollow with wooden plugs at each end. Saw them and you'll need to fill the hole. It turned a simple DIY project into a bit of a hassle.

Gee, Stylin', I'll trade you some Ikea Lack tables for some DIY bass traps. I've been admiring your handiwork. Any chance we could work something out? I live in Northern California where there's an Ikea (about an hour drive away plus about a half hour walk from parking to the front door - it's that popular!).
Well, I do have enough FIber glass and WIre fencing left over. Just need to buy more Wood circles, glue, Poly batting and Burlap. I think they weigh 30lbs each. 3' tall 18" diameter. Wonder what shipping would cost on those. Lets email and talk more about it. :)
Anyone know a good alternative to the Ikea Lack endtable? Phoenix doesnt have an Ikea store but we have everything else. Linn setup guide calls for a light sturdy table for their turntables.
Don't worry about it.. like all IKEA stuff it looks good inna catalogue/showroom but is actually klunky and lowish quality when you get it home and assembled.. Simplicity and price are seductive tho.. I must have 5 or more Lack end table things.. but they are really only suitable for kids rooms/storage use.. buy some and you will agree as well.

Ken from GreaterRanges / Neuance Shelves has a post on audiogon regarding the lack DIY end table using darts as spikes. He states that the materials used for Neuance and Lack are similar.http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?htech&1001889380&read&keyw&zzneuance=shelves
I have a LP12 that i was going to build a nice stereo rack for. Ikea Lack end tables are needed for the DIY Ikea Lyte rack.
Do a search of the Vinyl Asylum archives - the Ikea Lack table is actually quite well thought of as a support for Linn LP-12s.
My Poang chair is cost less than what they wanted for shipping. Worth the road trip, tho.

P.S. Do you know anyone who lives near an Ikea who could ship them to you?
I wish. THere is an Ikea in LA and San Diego but its a 7 hour road trip to get there from Phoenix.
