On the Proceed AMP3/2, does anyone know if it's possible to defeat the 6dB gain reduction when the input selection switch = XLR ? I ask because I'm using an RCA->XLR cable from my preamp to the AMP3.I noticed an unused 3-pin jumper labelled J3 near the outputs on the PCB - maybe that's relevant? Alternately, if anyone has a schematic for the board that would help.
thanks
Follow Ups:
If your preamp is not balanced just replace the cable with an RCA cable to get the additional 6 db gain. The reason proceed does this is so that a mix of balannced and RCA cable will play at the same level. e.g. Stereo preamp Balanced to the AMP2 and RCA from the Processor to the Centre and rear AMP3.Contact Madrigal for info on the preamp jumpers, but I doubt they will give you the schematics.
