The place that I work has a deal with an electronics distributor in town and I was wondering what the general consensus was on the quality of some of the parts they stock. In particular I was looking at some of the Corcom AC filers, namely the 10VDK1 and the 20VDK1, how useful would these be for line filtering an amplifier. As well as the resistors and capacitors from Robert G. Allen. in particular their Ultra Precision Metal Film Resistors and their polystyrene and polyproplene film capacitors. These would all be for use in an upgraded Leach Amp that I am planning on building.
Any thoughts would be helpful
Most CORCOM filter suck.Reasons?
Ceramic capacitors in the filter, and coupled inductors with poor linearity. The mentality of design seems to be, hey, its for the AC line, as long as it is rated, who cares?

Do you know of any in their line that don't suck?? Are there particular features I should look for in them. What company would you recomend, or should I just build my own. Its just I can get them cheap (and get some free samples from them as well). Thanks
Kelly McDonald
Nope, they all have ceramic caps, and nearly all have coupled inductors.Jon Risch
