I always enjoyed the principle of multiple ports & I'm not talking about the triangular areas that I usually keep to a minimum so as to reshape the straws hexagonally & plug the remainder with rubber cement. I'm talking about the individual subsonic Helmholtz f^v of each straw much like many enormous inductors in parallel. Plus, sectioning ports have been known to liminate many HF spikes plaguing bass reflex speakers.

Granted, I prefer dual ports mounted @ acoustic nodes to preclude many standing waves & use phase cancellation on the rest.
